How to Train Your Teenager

'Teenager' - Sometimes, I feel that its not a term that's good enough to term me on categorizing people. I'd rather be put into the kid's section than being called a 'teenager', believing on the notions that this term or people under this section are getting worse or are becoming 'dangerous' beings to deal with. However, as a teenager, myself if I form notions  like these would be seemingly considered as an abnormal child. But, even I was quite excited on entering my teens, I don't know why but little did I believe that I was growing up.

What my beliefs on this generation have been built up can be quite conflicting with a normal teenager whose role models are actors and actresses just because of how good they look rather than real role models like A.P.J. Kalam and Steve Jobs, the teenager who lives in reel life rather than concentrating on real life! Visions can always be deceptive, however if a student does well academically does not mean that s/he is wise enough to be called educated, as education is knowledge plus character. If s/he is a careerist , it does not mean s/he is passionate, because there's a big difference, the one who wants to lead a normal life with a regulated salary are the only inspiration footsteps of a careerist whereas a passionate is someone like Steve Jobs who himself is the meaning of 'passionate' & has always hired people only who were 'crazy enough to change the world, bring in revolution'! He has been an ever-risk taking person to start his own company, the Apple Inc. I bet he must have asked for getting into the best university (Reed University) as his birthday present from his middle-class family rather than today's generation that demands the latest gadgets on their parents' EMIs.

It's all turning into a fake world, night stays at friend's place are the best excuses for the ultimate selfie sessions for updating profile pictures, board games into social networking even with people who live just down the lane, while in this process, naive and nerds  are being eliminated and are termed as so-called 'abnormal', 'unsociable' animal whereas they are the real future! In the process, the whole society gets drowned. There has to be a way to get the young generation back on track, that lies in wise parenting, even this is an art. Simple tips like starting up a few no- social networking days would become the best day of the week or month, I bet, when we are made to play board games, watch inspirational movies, or adventurous picnics or even learning up a new language! Jut a few days back when I had my English class, It was when my English teacher asked us whether we we ever did touch an Ouija board and sadly none out of 40 student class had ever even heard the name and on researching about what an amazing board game it was, was when I became familiar with the disconnected generation of ours with the real, old, interesting society and decided to write this article. Please do help make it existing enough! Thank You! :)
